WPSB Recognizes students of the year

Franklinton Jr. High Softball Team has
Winning Inaugural Season


The FJHS Softball Team had a winning record of 7-2.


Varnado Powerlifter Wins State Title


Varnado High School Senior, Travon Stokes, was awarded a state title at the Division V Powerlifting State Competition. Competing in the 165-pound class, Stokes lifted a combined 1,200 pounds--435 squat, 315 bench, and 450 deadlift.

Franklinton High School students recently boarded the Steamboat Natchez to photograph sites along the Mississippi River. This authentic steamboat river cruise included a tour of the workings of the boat and a creole lunch accompanied by a jazz band.


Enon Students Create a Google Classroom!


Fifth-grade ELA classes at Enon Elementary are becoming more confident in their new Google Classroom. Mrs. Newman's students are shown above accessing their daily activities and assessments using a set of Chromebooks. With practice everyday, they are ready to be successful on the LEAP end-of-year assessment that will be taken on computers this year.


FHS Hosts Drug Prevention Speakers

Franklinton High School recently provided information to students about the dangers of taking drugs. Guest speakers Mike Phelps and Lindsey Lousteau of the Washington-St. Tammany Probation & Parole Division shared experiences they have witnessed of the negative effects drugs have on students and families. Mrs. Frances Varnado, WPSB Supervisor of Child Welfare & Attendance, also explained the consequences of bringing drugs on campus. Shown above with FHS Counselor, Angela Thomas, are Mr. Phelps and Ms. Lousteau.
