 Federal
child nutrition programs provide funds for
school districts to offer meals and snacks
for eligible students while they are in
school, before and after school, and during
the summer. These are entitlement programs
that enable every eligible student to
receive the benefits of good nutrition.
Eligibility is determined based on a
student’s household income.
